BIO-CULTURE AQ is a mixture of selected and proven microbial strains, held in animated suspension, that, when added to aquaculture systems form a living system of aerobic and anaerobic microbial strains which improve the environment of both fresh and saltwater systems. When used in your system, BIO-CULTURE AQ helps:
Degrade and liquefy fecal mass.
Reduce harmful buildup of ammonia.
Reduce algae growth.
Reduce Nitrogen compounds.
Reduce surface scum.
Reduce bottom sludge.
Improve bio-filter performance,
The product is the result of over 25 years extensive research and experience
in organic degradation. Using our own culture bank of naturally occurring microorganisms,
we were able to make a technical breakthrough by culturing and blending
specific strains of bacteria to successfully help aquaculture operations have
better water conditions.
It is a carefully controlled balanced mixture of bacteria, nutrients, and
synergists, formulated to give maximum results, using small amounts of a very
concentrated product to give excellent results at an economical cost to end
users. BIO-CULTURE AQ has been developed for the exclusive use by aqua
culturists (Large or small) to improve water quality, (both fresh and salt). It
does not produce excessive hydrogen sulfide or ammonia under anaerobic
conditions, but does convert ammonia to harmless nitrogen gas without depleting
dissolved oxygen (DO), at the same time keeping algae growth to a minimum.
BIO-CULTURE AQ is produced by procedures that adhere to Good Manufacturing
Practice (GMP). All formulations are made by following strict Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP); including complete Quality Control (QC) testing of
raw ingredients, and the finished product, including complete sample retention.
BIO-CULTURE AQ is tray dried (not freeze dried) to give you more viable,
useable, and stable living cultures pound per pound.
HOW TO USE BIO-CULTURE AQ
STATIC PONDS
For each one acre foot of water, add 6 pounds BIO-CULTURE AQ around the
edge for initial inoculation. Thereafter add one pound per acre foot of water
each 2 weeks.
RECYCLE PONDS
For each one acre foot of water, add 6 pounds BIO-CULTURE AQ around the
edge for initial inoculation. Thereafter add 1/2 pound per acre foot of water
each 2 weeks.
NET / PEN SYSTEMS
For each one acre foot of water add 5 pounds BIO-CULTURE AQ once every 2
weeks. Slurry the mixture and inject by pipe into the bottom sludge.
RACEWAY SYSTEMS
Start with the tank/pond at the end of the system. Begin with 6 pounds BIO-CULTURE
AQ per acre foot of water on day one, 1 pound on day 7 and day 14. On day
21 inoculate the next tank/pond up the line with 7 pounds per acre foot
followed by 2 pounds per acre foot the next week, and the week following. Move
to the next pond/tank up the line. The initial dose in each tank/pond will be 6
pounds per acre foot plus 1 pound per acre foot for each tank/pond downstream.
Weekly dose is 1 pound per acre foot per tank/pond, all added at one place.
When all tanks/ponds are inoculated, the total dose should be added at the head
of the raceway.
These suggestions are to be considered as starting guides. Since no two systems
are alike, rates will vary with organic load and other factors. After the first
2 to 3 weeks use, good managers adjust the rates to meet the systems needs.
NOTE: Before application, slurry each pound of BIO-CULTURE AQ in 2
gallons pond/tank water for 1 to 2 hours, in a clean container. Do not use
chlorinated water.
A laboratory in Virginia, tested BIO-CULTURE AQ in fresh and salt water,
using the worst water conditions possible. Control tanks were not treated. BIO-CULTURE
AQ came thru with flying colors. The results were:
50% reduced solids in saltwater and 33% in
freshwater.
70% reduced ammonia levels in freshwater and 40%
in saltwater.
64% reduction in algal biomass in freshwater and
33% in saltwater.
50% lower COD in freshwater and held steady in
saltwater.
LABORATORY STATEMENT
"We observed an initial reduction of ammonia, solids, and algae sooner in
the saltwater treatment. However, both salt and freshwater showed substantial
reductions in these parameters within 96 hours (4 days) of treatment. These
results indicate that even with very poor initial water quality, BIO-CULTURE
AQ can rapidly produce improved environmental conditions. In conclusion, we
observed that treatment with BIO-CULTURE AQ resulted in markedly
improved water quality conditions even under worst-case conditions. We would
surmise that under normal maintenance usage, BIO-CULTURE AQ should
effectively maintain good water quality conditions for all aquaculture
situations, both salt and fresh water."
