During the pelleting or extrusion process, and cooling, ingredients react with starch and soluble proteins to form partially insoluble complexes, which have adhesive capabilities. The end result of this process is a hard, water resistant pelleted feed that bonds and holds the ingredients together for longer periods of time, especially in aquatic conditions where pellets must not break apart. When AGRA-BOND pellets are fed in water, they swell, do not crack, but keep their internal integrity without breaking up like most aqua pellets. Tests have shown AGRA-BOND pellets to be in tact after 20 hours in water.
